Eyewash bottles are not an acceptable replacement of eyewash stations. Per ANSI Z358.1, here are some key components of an eyewash:
1) Minimum flow - .4 GPM
2) Provide hands free operation
3) Operate continuously for 15 minutes
Don't make the mistake and get cited for not having a compliant eyewash station! Installing a station requires plumbing which can be costly. We recommend the Speakman GravityFlo® as a simple yet cost effective solution.
Also use this safety survey checklist to help you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151, SUBPART K, SECTION C. "Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick, drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use."
